Chili Mac
Yield: 4 servings
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Tips: You can make this with prepackaged ingredients or make your own Macaroni & Cheese for more homemade flavor.
Suggestion: Delicious served with a side of Garlic Bread and a salad. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Chili Mac is a great quick and easy pasta recipe you can throw together when you are too tired to cook or simply don't have the time. This is one of those recipes that all ages will enjoy - especially the young ones! Chili Mac is made with macaroni and cheese and chili (with no beans), and can
be made very easily with some prepackaged Macaroni and Cheese (boxed or frozen) and a can of chili (no beans). Simply prepare the Macaroni & Cheese and heat the chili, then combine the two together to make a hot and tasty dish that resembles one of those boxed quick skillet pasta dinners (but with more flavor and without the unwanted ingredients). I do recommend adding a little spice to the chili, because canned chili usually runs a little bland (though if you you're happy with the flavor of the chili straight from the can, no additional spices needed). For those of you who have about 45 minutes (10 minutes preparation, 35 minutes cooking time) to whip up some homemade Macaroni & Cheese, this will work just as well and will give you a more homemade flavor. (Photo above shows Chili Mac made with homemade Macaroni & Cheese using medium pasta shells.) Once the Macaroni & Cheese is baked, simply mix in a can of heated chili, and dinner is served!

Ingredients
- 1 15-oz. can chili with no beans (any kind)
- 1 5-6-oz. box or 8-oz. container frozen macaroni & cheese (any kind)
- 1-2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1-2 quick splashes Tabasco (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- dash garlic salt
Directions
Prepare macaroni and cheese according to directions or make your own Macaroni & Cheese (Note: You may include or exclude the bacon when making your own Macaroni & Cheese). While noodles are cooking (or during last 5-10 minutes of baking homemade Macaroni & Cheese), pour chili into a small saucepan. Add chili powder, Tabasco, onion powder and garlic salt and heat to almost boiling, then reduce heat and simmer on low until macaroni and cheese is fully prepared. Once macaroni and cheese is prepared, pour the chili mixture into the macaroni and cheese and stir to blend.
