Chocolate Peanut Butter Crispies

Yield:  2 dozen bars
Cook Time:  About 3 minutes
Tips:  If bars are difficult to cut after taking out of the fridge, allow to sit at room temperature for a few minutes or until easier to cut.
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • dash salt
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup cornflakes, slightly crushed
  • 1 6-oz. package (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Combine corn syrup, brown sugar and salt in a medium boil.
Stir in peanut butter. Remove from saucepan. Bring to a full heat and stir in vanilla, rice cereal, cornflakes and chocolate chips. Press into a buttered 9x9x2-inch pan or casserole dish. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
